Shakira’s camp has just released more dates for the artist’s upcoming US road show as part of her world tour to support her most recent release, 2009’s “She Wolf”. Among the latest addition to Shakira’s itinerary are the following: September 17 in Uncasville, CT which shapes to be the trek’s kick-off show, October 1 in Dallas, October 2 in San Antonio, October 15 in San Diego, October 22 in Oakland, October 25 in Anaheim and what shapes to be the leg’s finale, October 29 in Chicago, contrary to the initial report that the trek will stretch until November.

Shakira has recently unveiled the initial details for her upcoming world tour which will kick off late this year in the US. Among the confirmed dates are: September 21 in Madison Square Garden in New York City, October 8 in Houston and October 23 in Los Angeles. An announcement is yet to be made for additional dates and venues.

Because apparently, the power of the new leader of the free world – Barack Obama – is not enough to re-examine the legality of the new immigration law that is about to be implemented in Arizona this summer. The new law which authorizes Arizona policemen to question the legality of entry of those who have crossed the US border is actually raising eyebrows, to be more specific, Latina pop star Shakira’s eyebrows, as the new law may lead to racial profiling which as we all know, is inhumane and undignified.

Latin music star Shakira is bound to release her newest single entitled “Gypsy”. The song is expected to hit the airwaves in April. The music video for the song is also making news as Shakira follows Enrique Iglesias’ footsteps of starring in their own music video with a tennis pro – Spanish tennis champ Rafael Nadal. You can see them holding hands, snuggle up on a rock, and glare at each other sexily in the video for “Gypsy”.

To perform during the halftime show are Shakira and Alicia Keys. Shakira is set to sing her chart topper “She Wolf” from her current release of the same title. She will also be singing “Give it up to Me” to complete her set for the event.

Indeed, Shakira has become bold, assertive and knows what she wants and is set out to get it no matter what – just like a wolf.

It indeed was a night for underdogs and dark horses – indie acts, emo rock bands and breakthrough artists – at last night’s MTV Video Music Awards. With seven MTV nods each, premiere rock act Red Hot Chili Peppers and Latina pop siren Shakira were expected to take home at least one moon man, and they did, but for technical awards like Best Art Direction for Peppers’ “Dani California” and Best Choreography for Shakira’s “Hips Don’t Lie”, thanks to industry professionals who also took part in this year’s voting process apart from fan votes, which is clearly reflected in the contrasting results for the major and technical awards.

With the recent release of the second volume of “Oral Fixation”, which is Shakira’s all-English follow-up to 2001’s “Laundry Service”, she is now prepping for a US summer tour to further promote “Oral Fixation Vol.2”. The tour will kick off in August and will run through November. She will be having multiple stops in Southern California and in Texas, details of which can be viewed on her website.
